Art Night

MTART X ART NIGHT

MTArt was delighted to be an associate to Art Night 2017 edition with the project of our artist Marine Hardeman. Sewer drains are everyday elements that exist in urban spaces that we barely notice.
The project of artist Marine Hardeman in Tower Hamlets Council literally highlighted what lied under our feet below the surface of the city. Hardeman did so by playing with the contrast of light and dark through a graphic play of light bursting through several horizontal and vertical installations from the sewer drains below. Sewer spotlights were central to the piece, which ignited independently to create a spatial performance. Hardeman’s innovative use of alternative spaces both enhanced and responded to the urban environment.
The installation took place from the 1st July to the 6th July - 10pm to midnight each night.
