Beth Cloughton is a finalist at Cambridge University, studying Social Anthropology. Before University, Beth completed a Fine Art Foundation Diploma at Leeds College of Art, and has continued her interest in art as a medium in her academic studies. For Beth, art is a term that emphasises a particular quality of something, deliberate as well as accidental, which can incorporate every sense, not just visual; art is more cerebral. Art is a fundamental channel of communication, a way of understanding the self, others, the past and the present, and this is why Beth loves art so much.
